Eastern Norway Research Institute has a broad experience in research on diversity, equality and inclusion, in different contexts and with different research methods.

Diversity refers to the differences between people regarding “characteristics” such as gender, ethnicity, age, skin colour, religion, personality, competence, education, ethnic background, sexual orientation, etc. Diversity can therefore relate to both individual characteristics and group membership (social categories).

This is a complex phenomenon, and the research area covers many different contexts. Some examples include: the integration of immigrants and refugees, the living conditions of sexual minorities and people who violate norms of gender expression, the recruitment of diversity in education and professions, and diversity management in organisations.
